Sikke kelimesi için birçok tanım bulunmaktadır. TDK’ ya göre; madeni para, madeni paralara vurulan damga, hayvanları bağlamak için yere çakılan demir veya ağaç kazık olarak kullanılan bu kelime çalışma içersinde yatırım amacıyla kullanılan madeni para anlamında kullanılmıştır. Sikke, tarihte çok çeşitli metaller kullanılarak üretilmiştir. Hükümdarlar için egemenliklerinin önemli bir simgesi olan sikkeler başa geçen her hükümdara göre ayrı ayrı basılmıştır. Tarihte altın olarak basılan sikke eski çağlardan beri süsleme kullanımının yanı sıra yatırım amaçlı da kullanılmıştır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Osmanlı İmparatorluğu ve modern Türkiye Cumhuriyeti dönemlerinde tedavüle verilen ve Darphane ve Damga Matbaası Genel Müdürlüğünce üretilen baskılı ziynet-takı ve ziynet-para olarak iki grup altında adlandırılan modern altın sikkelerin, baskı özelliklerinin belirlenmesi, sınıflandırılmasıdır. Ayrıca, bugüne kadar parçalı hallerde değişik çalışmalarda ifade edilen bilgilerin derlenmesi ve de konu hakkında araştırmacıların bilgilendirilmesi, hedeflenmektedir. Bu çalışma, analitik araştırma yöntemlerinden doküman analizi (derleme) yöntemi ile hazırlanmıştır. Araştırmanın sınırlılıkları, Osmanlı İmparatorluğu ve Türkiye Cumhuriyeti dönemi olarak belirlenmiştir. Araştırma kapsamında incelenen basılı yayınlanan dergi, kitap, makale, elektronik belgelerin bu konunun sadece belirli parçalarını içerdiği görülmüş olup, Osmanlı İmparatorluğu ile Türkiye Cumhuriyeti dönemlerini bir arada bulunduran altın sikkeler üzerine kapsamlı bir bilimsel bir makalenin yayınlanmamış olduğu görülmüştür. Çalışmanın sonuçlarının araştırmacılara, akademisyenlere ve öğrencilere önemli bilgiler sunacağı umulmaktadır. Çalışmanın önemi ise; günümüz ekonomik yatırım araçlarında kişilere alternatif sunma gayretleri arasında basılı altın ziynetleri konusunda aydınlatma sağlamış olmasıdır.

There are many definitions fort he word coin. According to TDK; this word, which is used as a coin, a stamp on coins, an iron or wood stake driven into the ground to tie animals, is used in the sense of coin used for investment purposes in the study. The coins and the signatures tat stamp upon them are combined as one label as coin, there is a various number of metal types used in order to make coin. Coins is also a sign of the emperor’s wealth and domination. Furthermore when the trone changes its leader also kind of coins has to change since it’s not accepted as valid by the new order. Most of the coins produced by gold also it’s used both for ornament and investment. The aim of this study is the determination and classification of the printing characteristics of modern gold coins (coins) produced by the General Directorate of the Mint and Stamp Printing House, which are classified under two groups as printed trappings-ornaments and trappings-money and in the circulation during the Periods of the Ottoman Empire and modern Republic of Turkey. In addition, it is aimed to compile the information expressed in different studies in fragmented forms until today and to inform researchers about the subject. This study has been prepared with document analysis (review) method, one of the analytical research methods. Published magazines, books, articles, electronic books examined within the scope of the research documents have been found to contain only certain parts of this subject, and modern gold coins has been seen that a scientific article on it has not been published. The results of the study are expected that it will provide important information to researchers, academicians and students. The importance of the study is; Among the efforts to offer alternatives to people in today's economic investment instruments is that it has provided illumination on printed gold ornaments.
