Geçmişten günümüze vazgeçilmez bir ziynet eşyası olan takılar, tarihsel süreç içerisinde kimi zaman bağlılığı göstermek için bir sembol, kötülüklerden ya da nazardan korunmak için bir uğur, süslenmek için bir araç olarak kullanılmıştır. İnsanların duygu, düşünce ve inançlarının biçime dönüşmesi olarak görebileceğimiz takılar, taştan-bronza, gümüşten-altına, pırlantadan-safire birçok değerli malzemeden yapıldığı gibi günümüzde camdan-plastik malzemeye, pek çok farklı malzemelerden takı örneklerini de görmek mümkündür. Tarihsel süreç içerisinde malzemenin çeşitlenmesi, resim, heykel ve seramik gibi farklı disiplinlerde çalışan sanatçılarında ilgisini çekmesi ve kendi yaratıcılıklarını yansıtabilecekleri yeni bir araç olarak kabul etmesiyle birlikte takının artık sadece bir zanaat olarak görülmemesi, gelenekselin ötesinde takıların doğmasına neden olmuştur. Farklı ve çeşitli malzemelerin takı tasarımında yarattığı etki, yeni ve alternatif bir moda anlayışını getirmiş, gelenekselin ötesine geçen farklı ve alternatif malzemelerden yapılan takılar altın, gümüş, zümrüt gibi değerli taşlardan yapılan takılar kadar değerli hale gelmiştir. Bugün modern takı tasarımı anlayışının değişmesi gelenekselin ötesinde takı tasarımlarının çeşitliliği ve zenginliği yadsınamaz derecede önem kazanmıştır.

The diversification of the material in the historical process, the interest of artists working in different disciplines such as painting, sculpture and ceramics, and accepting it as a new tool to reflect their own creativity, led to the emergence of jewelry beyond traditional. The effect of different and various materials in jewelry design has brought a new and alternative fashion sense, and the jewelery made from different and alternative materials that have gone beyond the traditional has become as valuable as the jewelery made from precious stones such as gold, silver and emerald. Today, the change in the understanding of modern jewelry design has become undeniable. In this research, how and how ceramics and porcelain, which have a long history, will be effective in creating contemporary and modern designs are investigated in the historical process and tried to be discussed through the examples designed and applied. The aim of the course is to provide theoretical support to artists and designers in creating new approaches, alternative and original jewelry designs by using ceramic and porcelain in jewelry design.
