ABSTRACT
Considering the post-truth problematic that defines today's socio-cultural and socio-political environment and discussions on it, the relations between the field of art, which is the concept of truth and especially the relations between the field of art, which is the main carrier of illusion and image world in the context of reality and truth, is at an important point. Many philosophers and thinkers have mostly discussed the relations between the concept of truth and art, which lies within the field of philosophy, but the uncertain and controversial nature of truth also drives these debates into ambiguity. On the other hand, the neoliberal capitalist world, in which today's discourse of freedom is centralized, appropriates the art that has a paradoxical relation with institutionalization and the neoliberal capitalist world by a postmodern discourse. The criticism of institutionalization has clarified the ambiguous relationship field of art, which has brought the art out of the object-centered view, revealing its more intellectual core, like conceptual art. On the other hand, technological applications such as virtual reality, augmented reality that develops by today's intellectual structure, and their easy access changes our image and perception world in terms of defining our existing reality. The structural change here takes place at an angle that can be considered both positive and negative, and our relations with reality is complicated by fiction and lies, leading us to an uncertain position about what is real and what is not. The basic point here is undoubtedly in our relations with truth; that is, whether or not to reach the truth becomes the main issue. Because, with a Foucaultian perspective, while knowledge shapes our reality, it also constitutes our truth. In this context, the owner of information production and technologies becomes the owner and the controller of our truth. Artistic knowledge as a form of information is located in a very critical place here. In this text, the reality-truth relations are examined from a point of view not only in philosophy but also in art, and a truth debate is carried out by including basic views on the subject.
