ABSTRACT

Color is a physical phenomenon which occurs in relation to the intensity of light. Light shows difference in relation to the environment we are in; our geographic location, the current season, or even in between the hours of the day. It also has a direct effect on the occurrence of color, causing it to differ in terms of hue and tone. The balance of color exists seamlessly in nature. This balance; while containing contrasts in itself from time to time, has once again managed to uphold our fascination of nature with colors that are seemingly impossible to go together and manage to maintain the said balance in itself. The artificial light, developed for the times when there is no natural counterpart, has enabled us to observe colors, and with the correct tone, for environments with no natural light. When perceiving color, getting as close as possible to the natural color in order not to distort the tones, directly affects our perception of color. At the same time, light also has a direct effect on space perception. Just like how the existence of light affects color, light also presents itself as an indispensable element of design to correctly perceive interior space. Taking the concept of "color", which exists in nature and in perfect balance, into interior spaces, can still create colorful environments with a balance of its own. In this study; the effects of perceiving color-light in the interior, and after analyzing sample colors that exist on its own in nature, how to utilize the said colors into interior design will be explained in correlation with examples.
