Göç kavramını açıklamak üzere yapılan tanımlar birçok açıdan eksik kalmaktadır. Bunun nedeni, göç kavramının dinamik niteliğidir. Tarihi insanlık tarihi kadar eskiye dayanan göç, en basit şekliyle; bir yerden başka bir yere gitmek olarak tanımlansa da ilişkili olduğu alanlar bakımından, oldukça geniş ve farklı yönleri ile irdelenmesi gereken bir konudur. Günümüzün ekonomik, sosyal, kültürel, siyasal gelişiminde göç önemli bir yer tutmaktadır. İnsan, bulunduğu coğrafyayı etkilemekte, aynı zamanda o coğrafyanın tüm koşullarından etkilenmektedir. Özellikle kültürel dinamikler bakımından göç gerek göç eden için gerekse göç edilen coğrafya için önemli etkiler gerçekleştiren bir süreçtir. Benliğinden kopmamak adına belleğine sık sık başvuran insan, göç ettiği coğrafyada kendisini çoğunlukla öteki olarak hissetmektedir. Dolayısıyla göçün zorunlu veya gönüllü bir şekilde gerçekleştirilmesinden ziyade, sonuçları insanlar açısından benzerdir. Bu sonuçlar, insanların duygularını, düşüncelerini ifade etme ihtiyacını oluşturmuştur. Sanatın göç ile olan etkileşimi de bu ihtiyaçtan kaynaklanmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, Türkiye’de göç konusunu sanatında işleyen Tiraje Dikmen ve Gülsün Karamustafa’nın göçe bakış açıları literatür taraması kapsamında edinilen kaynaklar ve eser incelemesi doğrultusunda ele alınmıştır. Her iki sanatçıdan seçilen beş eser üzerinden nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden betimsel araştırma yöntemi kullanılarak değerlendirilmeler yapılıp sonuca ulaşılmaya çalışılmıştır. İki sanatçının da göç konusundaki sanatsal yaklaşımlarında benzerlikler ve farklılıklar bulunmaktadır, ancak iki sanatçının da göç konusundaki ortak paydası, bireysel ve toplumsal değişim unsuru olmuştur.

Definitions made to explain the concept of migration are incomplete in many respects. This is due to the dynamic nature of the concept of migration. Migration, whose history is as old as the history of humanity, in its simplest form; Although it is defined as going from one place to another, it is a subject that needs to be examined in terms of the fields it is related to, and with different aspects. Migration has an important place in today's economic, social, cultural and political development. Man affects the geography he is in, and at the same time is affected by all the conditions of that geography. Migration, especially in terms of cultural dynamics, is a process that has significant effects for both the immigrant and the migrated geography. A person who frequently resorts to his memory in order not to break away from himself, often feels himself as the other in the geography he migrated to. Therefore, rather than a forced or voluntary migration, the consequences are similar for people. These results created the need for people to express their feelings and thoughts. The interaction of art with migration also stems from this need. In this study, the perspectives of Tiraje Dikmen and Gülsün Karamustafa, who deal with the issue of migration in Turkey in their art, are discussed in line with the sources and work analysis obtained within the scope of literature review. Five works selected from both artists were evaluated by using the descriptive research method, one of the qualitative research methods, and the result was tried to be reached. There are similarities and differences in the artistic approaches of both artists on migration, but the common denominator of both artists on migration has been the element of individual and social change.
