In the late 1930s, there was an essential change in the Turkish poetry with the beginning of Garip movement. Garip poets who opposed the tradition in poetry,have began to use poetry elements such as theme, language and form in a new and unique way. This situation was reflected in the literary environment, Garip understanding in the 1940s became one of the most popular and widespread poetry trends of the period. Like many young poets influenced by the Garip movement -whose pioneers were Orhan Veli Kanık, Oktay Rifat and Melih Cevdet Anday- Muzaffer Tayyip Uslu and Rüştü Onur, who started to write poetry in the second half of the 1930s, have followed the Garip poetry in terms of structure, theme, language and harmony elements. Uslu and Onur, who have been referred to as “poets from Zonguldak”, have been evulated together in our literature history since they had a similar understanding of poetry. Due to the shortness of their life stories, they could write small number of poems, but they have an important place among young poets affected by Garip poetry. The fact that they were away from the literature settings and died at a young age caused the insufficient attention that they have received on their role and importance in the Garip movement. In this study which aims to fulfill a need in the field of poetry, the poems of Uslu and Onur will be examined under various headings. The points where they have in common with the poetry of Garip and the points where they differ from each other will be identified. The opinions of the other writers and poets about them will be mentioned, and therefore a detailed evaluation will be made about their poetry universe.
