ABSTRACT


The Industry 4.0 period we are in represents a period in which technology is used very intensively. The rapid development of technology is effective in the rapid change and transformation of urban life. Apart from this, factors such as urbanization policies and natural disasters also cause changes and transformations in cities. As a result of these changes and transformations, urban values are in danger of extinction. Preserving city values and urban memory elements is important in creating a sense of belonging to the city. Technological developments are a tool that can contribute in this sense. It is possible to document, preserve, preserve and transfer urban memory elements to the future through digital technologies. Used in this context; Programs such as Autocad, Revit, Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchup, Lumion, Twinmotion, 3DMax, Archicad are some of these intermediaries. With the recent development of virtual reality technology, virtual reality applications are frequently used to transfer historical and cultural values to the digital environment. Virtual museums are one of these applications. Virtual museums offer the user the opportunity to experience an area that no longer exists within the museum, as if they were there, through a screen interface or through virtual reality glasses, without going anywhere. In this context, digital technologies play a major role in ensuring the sustainability of cultural heritage and transferring it to future generations. Because cultural heritage values are documented and recorded with digital technologies and made available to users. Therefore, this study is a qualitative research focusing on how the past period of Eskişehir Hamamyolu Bazaar can be experienced with virtual reality. The positive and negative aspects of the Twinmotion program used in this experience were discussed. Within the scope of the study, it was revealed that the Twinmotion program was insufficient and that the work could be further improved through other programs. As a result, a study has emerged that will serve as an example of how the Twinmotion program is effective in the sustainability of cultural heritage sites.
