ABSTRACT
Ceramic production in the world and in our country is expanding its range day by day and the raw material resources it needs are also increasing. Some of the raw materials used are losing their reserves and some raw materials are being searched for different alternatives. One of these raw materials is feldspar rock, which has an important place in the ceramic industry. In Turkey, primarily porcelain and vitrified ceramic production facilities are located around Bilecik, Kütahya Izmir and Çanakkale. Most of the production facilities meet their potassium and sodium feldspar needs from Aydın-Çine region, which causes large-scale transportation costs. Considering these problems, research was carried out on raw material quarries that could be close to the production facilities. In the research, it was aimed to evaluate the effects of feldspar raw material obtained from Bilecik-Bozüyük region in ceramic composition and to investigate its usability. In line with this goal, Bozüyük region feldspar, which is obtained as a rock and used as sand in the construction sector, was tried at 1050°C- 1120°C and 1200°C by creating binary system recipe compositions into the ceramic body. It is aimed to emphasize the importance of the use of local raw materials by using Bilecik-Bozüyük Region Feldspar in the ceramic body trials.
