ABSTRACT
Today, space has become an important element of graphic design. Therefore, people are constantly confronted with visual messages in their daily lives. These visuals also convey messages about the spaces where they are located. Or vice versa, they give messages about their content in spaces. In other words, there are messages about the corporate identity and the formation of the space. It is observed that graphic design works on the identity of institutions in conveying messages in spaces. Graphic designers who use the space while creating these works should also include the characteristics of the space in planning and design. The more important corporate identity design is for organizations, the more important it is to also create the place's identity. In this sense, space identity formation is not given the importance it needs in our country. The aim here is to examine the formation of graphic design in space and to examine the existing studies in this sense. The space, the space in which it is located, the objects, borders and language it contains constitute the communication of the space. Man is constantly in a limited space. These spaces create a space of its own function and idea. For those who spend time here, their emotions, thoughts and movements are affected by the design and condition of the space. In addition, the placement, arrangement and movements of the space are influenced directly by the objects it contains. Graphic design is the field where ways of communicating in space are researched and applied. When combined with corporate identity and orientation design, the space of the institution is shaped in the light of graphic design. To be able to look at the space of graphic design with a new perspective; The use of indoor and outdoor, information graphics, posters and pictograms in the space can be typographic and linear, can support the orientation of the space, and can also be visual to changing the visual perception of the space. In that context, Otto Herbert HAJEK's works support the perception of space and are created in such a way that space and forms complement each other. By consciously designing more livable spaces for ease of use and comfort, creating a positive impact on people's emotions and thoughts, his works in social areas are presented for human benefit. By using serigraphy designs in his sculptures, integrity is established in the area where the sculpture will take place. We can say that Otto Herbert HAJEK's works give visual identity to the structure of the city. Different forms of graphical marks have been observed thanks to the holistic relationship established by man with the space for the transformation of the city. It has been seen that graphic design plays an effective role in the functioning of the elements in the space.
