ABSTRACT


The subject of the research named “A Contemporary Printmaker in the Context of Technique and Concept: Endi Poskovic”; it is the examination of an academician artist who was born in Sarajevo and immigrated to America, and his approach to printmaking with subject choices and technical applications. The purpose of this study is; to examine how the artist constructs his works in the context of technical analysis and concept, which methods he uses, and to investigate the place of works adapted to technological innovations within the discipline of printmaking. Within the scope of the study, the articles written about the artist, exhibition catalogs, personal website, internet news were examined and the information shared by the artist via e-mail was used. In the theoretical part of the study, qualitative research methods such as source scanning, work review and electronic communication were used. The article is important in terms of aiming to examine Endi Poskovic, who has an effective production area among contemporary printmaking artists, within the framework of printmaking series, creating a Turkish printmaking literature and providing resources for future researches. As a result of the research named “A Contemporary Printmaker in the Context of Technique and Concept: Endi Poskovic”; with contexts such as concept, technique, fiction and meaning, Endi Poskovic's current printmaking productions, his technical mastery, how he handles a traditional technique with a contemporary expression and technology have been determined. The artist's prints have been evaluated in five different series, both as subject and composition. As an immigrant artist, it was emphasized how his experiences and achievements in the geographies he lived and left behind affect his works.
