Anatolia has hosted many different cultures until today. As seen in a rug or sometimes in a carpet, these differences have turned into richness over time. Traces of this unique cultural accumulation can be seen in Anatolian traditional handicraft products. Since the moment he started to exist, Mankind has used plant stems and animal skins obtained from nature for protecting himself from environmental conditions. Inspired by the nature, human who first obtained the felt and then developed the weaving as the decorating object, has decorated textile materials with the symbols of the form of expression. These textiles (felt, weaving, carpet, etc.) full of symbols with rich meanings were also used as a means of communication. It is possible to describe the motifs and symbols in textiles as the silent words of the Anatolian people. The patterns used in Anatolia bear traces of many cultures and show similarities with them. In this study; Artists and designers who reflect Anatolian culture and symbols in Turkey, with a contemporary approach to their works/designs, are featured. By presenting the works of textile artists/designers who adapt cultural elements, bookmarks, motifs and symbols used in Anatolia to the present day, it is aimed to inspire young artist/designer candidates. Symbols, signs, cultural motifs and Anatolian traditions were traced in designs and artworks. The works of Ayla Salman Görüney, Hamdi Ünal, Belkıs Balpınar, Vakko’s “Anatolian Sun Collection”, Naime Didem Öz, Ramazan Can, Bilge Merve Aktaş, and the Atelier 11 brand and Anatolian Cultural Entrepreneurship were examined to seek the traces of Anatolian cultural elements, handicrafts and symbols in today’s art.
