El sanatları; bir toplumun tarihini, kültürünü, yaşam biçimi ve gelenek göreneklerini en net şekilde yansıtan kıymetli bir sanat alanıdır Her toplumun ve kültürün kendine özgü el sanatı olduğu kaynaklarda değinilmiştir. El sanatlarının dallarından birisi olan iğne oyaları Türk milletine özgü el sanatları olarak literatüre geçmiştir. Türk kadınının sevinci, öfkesi ve üzüntüsü gibi duygularını aktarmakta kullandığı, usta çırak ilişkisiyle günümüze kadar gelmiş, kadınların gelir elde ettiği, ince işçilik ve çok emek harcanarak yapılan bir geleneksel bir zanaat olduğu bilinmektedir. İğne oyaları geçmişte başörtüsü, kadın elbiselerinin yaka, kol ve mendillerini süslemekte kullanılırken günümüzde farklı alanlarda da kullanılmaya başladığı görülmektedir. Bu alanlardan birisi de kadın ayakkabılarıdır. Ayakkabı kültürünün geçmişten günümüze sürekli değişim gösterdiği bilinmektedir. Ayak sağlığı ve ayağı koruma amaçlı kullanılan ayakkabıları satın alırken rahatlığı dışında formuna, topuğuna, süslemesi ve tasarımı gibi özelliklerinin de dikkate alındığı bilinmektedir. Toplumlarda günlük veya özel günlerde kullanılacak giysilerin en belirgin tamamlayıcısının ayakkabılar olduğu bilinmektedir. Bu makalede kadın giyim kuşamının en önemli parçalarından birisi olan ayakkabıların el sanatları dallarından birisi olan iğne oyalarıyla süslenmesi sanat yaklaşımı kapsamında incelenmiştir. Bu tür bir çalışmanın ilk defa yapılması ve bu konuda çalışma yapacaklara örnek olacak özgün veriye sahip olması nedeni ile çalışma önemlidir. Çalışma; literatür taraması ve araştırmacının tecrübelerinden yararlanılarak verilerin düzenlenip sonuçların çıkartıldığı nitel yönteme dayalıdır.

Handicrafts are a valuable art field that reflects the history, culture, lifestyle and traditions of a society in the clearest way. It is mentioned in the sources that each society and culture has its own handicraft. Needle lace, one of the branches of handicrafts, has entered the literature as handicrafts specific to the Turkish nation. It is known that it is a traditional craft that Turkish women use to convey their feelings such as joy, anger and sadness, has survived to the present day with the master-apprentice relationship, and is a source of income for women, and is done with fine workmanship and great effort. Needle laces were used to decorate headscarves, collars, sleeves and handkerchiefs of women's dresses in the past, while today it is seen that they have started to be used in different areas. One of these areas is women's shoes. It is known that shoe culture has been constantly changing from the past to the present. It is known that when buying shoes used for foot health and foot protection, features such as shape, heel, ornamentation and design are also taken into consideration in addition to comfort. It is known that shoes are the most obvious complement to clothes to be used on daily or special occasions in societies. In this article, the decoration of shoes, one of the most important parts of women's clothing, with needle lace, one of the branches of handicraft, is examined within the scope of the art approach. The study is important because it is the first of its kind to be conducted and has original data that will be an example for those who will study on this subject. The study is based on the qualitative method, where the data is organized and the results are drawn by using the literature review and the experiences of the researcher.
